Aleksandr Ovcharenko is a Software Engineer in the High Performance Computing Section within the Computing Division.

His focus at Blue Brain is on the development and optimization of parallel neuronal simulators of different scales.

Aleksandr has a PhD in Computer Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, USA and a Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Ulsan in South Korea. His Bachelors in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science was gained at Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), Russia.

Outside of work, Aleksandr is keen on urban fitness and enjoys skiing and travelling.
