Stefan Eilemann is the Section Manager of the Scientific Visualization team within the Computing Division.
 
Stefan leads the team working towards large-scale visualization for Exascale simulations; the interactive integration of simulation, analysis and visualization, as well as novel visualizations of neuroscience data and brain simulations.
 
Prior to joining Blue Brain in 2011, Stefan worked as a software engineer for several organizations in Switzerland. This included working in Silicon Graphics Inc's Advanced Graphics Division, as the technical lead of OpenGL Multipipe SDK - a toolkit for scalable, parallel visualization software on shared memory supercomputers. In 2007, he founded Eyescale Software and is the lead developer of the Equalizer parallel rendering framework.
 
Stefan received his Masters degree in Computer Science from EPFL in 2015, and his BSc in Computer Science, from Berufsakademie Heidenheim in 1998.
 
Outside of work, his spare time is spent on anything bike related. This includes mountain biking, adventure bike packing and he volunteers as a bike mechanic at a non-profit in Neuchatel.
