In Silico Neuroscience Algorithm Development

Athanassia Chalimourda is responsible for the statistical quality control and validation in the Algorithm Development section.

She develops statistical tools to ensure the consistency between synthesised cell morphologies and biological model constraints, as well as for the validation of the synthesised cell morphologies.

For the other sections, Athanassia provides general support in validation, model selection and statistical methods. Before joining the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, she worked in financial risk controlling for leading German banks.

Athanassia studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Universities of Athens, Greece, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany and Koblenz. She has collaborated in several international scientific projects, in which she worked on time series analysis and prediction, machine learning and support vector machines.
